I have the honour to transmit herewith the duplicate

copy of the medical adviser's report of his examination of Mr.

F. Culliford, Sub-Inspector of Police, Hong Kong. You will

observe from Colonel Prouts' remarks that this officer proposes

to retire from the service of the Hong Kong Government.

intimation has been received by us from Mr. Culliford that he

intended resigning, and, in the circumstances, I have to enquire

whether the Secretary of State has received any such instructions

from the Government of Hong Kong, and also whether the usual travelling expenses to and from the doctor should be paid in

this case.
